Ari J. Markenson is a health care attorney in New York City who writes here on diverse regulatory and transactional issues in health care in the United States. He has spent his career working at the intersection of healthcare, law and business. He counsels healthcare industry clients, including investors, providers and payers, on a wide range of matters. He represents private equity firms on healthcare transactions, including significant regulatory, M&A and portfolio company work including serving in an outside general counsel role.
Mr. Markenson speaks and publishes regularly for well-known health care organizations on topics related to health care, law and business and is an active participate in many professional organizations related to healthcare, law and business. He is a Past Chair of the New York State Bar Association – Health Law Section and still serves on its Executive Committee. He is also an active member of the Westchester / Hudson Valley Committee of the Association for Corporate Growth – NY Chapter
Mr. Markenson is an adjunct professor at a number of graduate schools where he teaches in health care and law programs He is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and a Lecturer at the School of Health Sciences and Practice at New York Medical College.
